Out of the Blue

Lightning terrifies me…which makes sense because I live in Central Florida aka Lightning Alley.

As a kid, I learned all about thunderstorms and lightning. Did you know the worst place to find shelter in a lightning storm is under a tree? (It can travel through the roots of struck tree and electrify the surrounding ground.) And did you know lightning can strike even if a storm ISN’T overhead. (If you can hear thunder, a storm is within 10 miles…and the accompanying lightning can reach within that radius.)

When lightning strikes, you never know where or when the damage will show.
