Wade in the Water

It is a mystery how words – conversation. song, prose fragments – are seeded into memory, only recalled when needed most.

Wade in the Water

For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. – John 5:4 (KJV)

they show in idle moments
when the veil is thinner yet
into a blank space filled
with words spoken
without mouths
without bodies
to accompany them
images stuttering into fluency
wearing a skin of danger
they beckon and repel
beckon again the needed
blooming there right at hand
